Manage, Store, and Share Research Data (RDM, DMPs)

Research Data Management is the ongoing organisation, documentation, storage, security, sharing, and preservation of research data across the research lifecycle.

The Library provides self-directed Research Data Management guidance and currently provides essential institutional review and sign-off of Data Management Plans.

If you are a University of Galway staff member or student and need access to internal procedures, templates, or local workflow material, you may also use the internal Research Data Management SharePoint site.

Current RDM support

From 1 October 2026 to January 2027, Research Services is providing essential institutional review and sign-off of Data Management Plans (DMPs). Wider one-to-one Research Data Management support is not currently available as a staffed service. Please allow up to five working days for an initial response.

Self-directed guidance on data organisation, storage, documentation, FAIR practice, sharing and publishing remains available through the Research Data Management Guide.
