Special Collections

Special Collections is the section of the Library which looks after old and rare items as well as material in different formats such as maps and newspapers. These collections are accessed in the Archives & Special Collections Reading Room. The staff there will be happy to assist with queries relating to this material. Please be sure to read the Conditions of Access and Guidelines for Readers for further information on accessing the collections.

Databases

There is extensive access to databases and other electronic resources which complement the printed Special Collections and Archives material. Older Exam Papers

Older exam papers dating from the 1890s are available on request in the Special Collections Reading Room.

Theses in Print

The Library holds a copy of most theses completed in University of Galway, University of Galway (the University's title between 1997 and 2022), and University College Galway (the University's title before 1997). View our Guide for Finding Theses.
