Research Integrity
Open Research and Research Integrity go hand in hand.
Open Research promotes transparency and reproducibility of results to increase and widen the diffusion of knowledge. However, several ethical, legal, and social challenges exist to maximise its benefits.
Research integrity addresses these challenges. It relates to research performance to the highest standards of professionalism and rigour and the accuracy and integrity of the research record in publications and elsewhere.
Research Integrity at the University of Galway
The University of Galway promotes the responsible conduct and management of research across all disciplines.
- Ethical Research courses and tutorials are provided via the Researcher Development Centre, see the Epigeum Research Skills Toolkit
- Free online training courses in Research Integrity are available to all research staff and students.
