The MakerSpace

The MakerSpace is a space where staff and students can be creative, collaborate, share develop ideas, innovate, and generally just 'make stuff'. The space is available for staff and students to use at any time while the Library is open. You can book equipment available in advance or just drop in!

Volunteer with the MakerSpace

We are always looking for volunteers to facilitate workshops and help maintain the equipment and the space. Full training is provided. If you're interested in helping us out, please email Eileen Kennedy or see our volunteer page.

Sponsorship

If you think you could help our work or work with us on a partnership, please contact us. The MakerSpace's initial seed funding was generously funded in part by the University of Galway Student Projects' Fund.

Work Experience

If you are interested in applying for a Secondary School Transition Year Student Placement in the MakerSpace you should email a brief CV and cover letter to Eileen Kennedy at least three weeks in advance of your preferred placement commencement date. Your cover letter should include your year level, school name, teacher’s name and contact details, preferred placement dates and the reasons why you want to undertake work experience with us. Please see Work Experience & Employment Opportunities.
