The Library provides access to all sorts of information resources to support your learning and research. You can search all of our collections through the Library Catalogue, or learn more about different types of information resources below.

Our PCs have a higher specification than those available in most of the PC suites on campus and we have some of the only Mac Minis around. Check the booking page for the software available on each computer. Adobe CC is installed on Maker Mac 01 and Maker PC 01.
3D printing is free for both students and staff of NUI Galway. We print in PLA (and resin by request) and have three 3D printers in use: Ultimaker 2, Ultimaker 2 Extended, and Form2. Learn how to use the free service and submit a design for printing here.
Laser & Vinyl Cutting
The Beambox and Cricut Maker 3 can be reserved through the booking page. Be sure to bring your own materials and keep an eye out for workshops on getting started.
We also offer free equipment borrowing including drones, VR headsets, camera equipment, Raspberry Pis, Arduinos and more. Equipment can be collected from and returned to the Library & IT Service Desk. View the equipment page to see items and availability.
Volunteer with the MakerSpace
We are always looking for volunteers to facilitate workshops and help maintain the equipment and the space. If you're interested in helping us out, please email the MakerSpace or see our volunteer page on StudentVolunteer.ie.

If you are interested in applying for a Secondary School Transition Year Student Placement in the MakerSpace you should email a brief CV and cover letter to email@example.com at least three weeks in advance of your preferred placement commencement date. Your cover letter should include your year level, school name, teacher’s name and contact details, preferred placement dates and the reasons why you want to undertake work experience with us.Please see Work Experience/Employment Opportunities.
